Attendance

Expectations

Student attendance is reported in the Aeries Student Information System. Teachers report attendance within 10 minutes of the beginning of class. Parents have access to their student’s attendance on Aeries Parent Portal

Attendance Expectations

Due to the hands-on learning environment, students are expected to be in class every day. Students are required to report to their bus location promptly in order to avoid missing class. Excessive absences may result in removal from the program.

How to Leave School Early for a Valid Excuse or Medical Appointment

Students must have a pass issued to leave campus. Students leaving without first obtaining permission from the office will be assigned an unexcused absence (CUT) which may result in disciplinary action and/or affect their class grade.

  • The parent/guardian should call / email / send a note to the Office, stating the reason and time the student is to leave. The student will be issued a pass. This pass is shown to staff to show that the student has permission to leave campus at the time stated on the pass. The student may then leave/wait for their ride outside the school office. As much prior notice as possible should be given, so that the office has time to issue a pass.
  • Written notes should include a phone number for verification from the parent/guardian, and should be taken to the Attendance Office window before school or during break.
  • If a student becomes ill during the school day, school officials will contact the  parent/guardian to pick up their student.

How to Sign a Student Out of School

If you are not able to call / email / send a note in advance, students can be signed out at the Office upon arrival. The parent/guardian must be on the emergency contact list and present identification.

Closed Campus

MRC is a CLOSED campus. No student may leave during class time without a permit to leave campus issued by the MRC Office.
